This Mystery

Time is running out,

I hear the clock tick in my ear

So long I’ve waited for this time

That’s almost done

So I choose to approach

It’s not crazy to suppose

It hasn’t been that long since we last talked

So here I come to you

With my world on the line

There’s so much to say and so very little time

But I don’t know what to say

So a smile paints my face

Just like so many conversations past

There you sit alone

I can’t help but hear you talking on the phone

Your voice so soothing takes me far away

But I stumble back to earth

Still stuck with the same curse

Thus unresolved remains this mystery

And here I am with you

With my world on the line

There’s so much to say and so very little time

But I don’t know what to say

So a smile paints my face

Just like so many conversations past

And here I am with you

With my world on the line

There’s so much to say but now there isn’t time

Still I don’t know what to say

So a smile paints my face

But maybe we’re just better off this way

Still here I am with you

And my world’s on the line

Still so much to say but now I have no time

Still I don’t know what to say

Yet a smile paints my face

Just like too many conversations past
